ARTTA Concept Studio has ingeniously used rustic metal and antique steel finishing to create a warehouse theme. The loft area of the bar frame structure showcases this industrial vibe, while the open kitchen, adorned with cranberry coloured bricks, enhances the theme further. Exposed steel pipes on the ceiling not only emphasize the height but also add to the overall industrial aesthetic.
The restaurant's design is consistent in its use of materials, framing the interior and creating various tilted angles. These sleek and linear patterns offer an illusion of depth, adding a layer of complexity to the design. The restaurant's design is not just about aesthetics; it's about creating an immersive dining experience that transports guests to a different era.
The design team, including Arthur Tang, Natalie Chan, and Daphne Fan, faced a unique challenge with the restaurant's high ceiling. To balance the height within the interior, they incorporated a loft, which fits perfectly well within the whole restaurant design and concept. This innovative solution showcases the team's ability to turn potential design obstacles into creative opportunities.
The restaurant, which spans 371 SQM, was designed in Hotel Ease, located at 15-19 Chun Pin Street, Hong Kong. The design process involved extensive research to ensure the warehouse concept flowed throughout the hotel, creating a cohesive design narrative. The team used colours like cranberry bricks, walnut brown veneer, and navy blue wallpaper to achieve this seamless integration.
Eat at Ease has been recognized for its unique design, winning the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The restaurant's design, admired for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcases a remarkable level of excellence and introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
